An unusual Victorian oak domed top butterfly opening tea caddy with decorative silver plated fittings c.1900. The solid figured oak box with chamfered edge plinth to the foot and hinged domed top opening from the centre. Silver plated decorative fittings to the corners, the top, and complimenting fleur des lis design drop handles to the sides. The hinged lid opening from both sides to reveal a fitted interior with silver plated lids and surround forming two caddies to store the tea, original green baized finish to the interior of the hinged lids. A most unusual item, superbly made and prese...nted in excellent original with a rich polish and immaculate fittings.
