A Victorian carved oak banjo barometer with porcelain dial and skeletonised movement in superb original condition c.1885. Solid carved figured oak case with crest to the top and complementing crest to the base. Porcelain dial with weather predictions sat around the outer edge and skeletonised movement to the centre, which is sat in a patinated brass housing. Bevelled edge glass with central reading marker, mounted in a polished brass bezel. Matching scale to the thermometer with original mercury action thermometer sat to the upper half of the case. Presented in superb origin...al condition, fully serviced and working. Measures 32" long x 10" wide x 2.5" deep. Stock number 42278.
