A Victorian solid oak cased aneroid Ship's barometer with rope twist design case and porcelain dial; fully service and in working order c.1885. The solid figured English golden oak turned case with carved rope twist design surround to the dial. White porcelain dial with weather predictions sat around the outer edge and the makers name G.F. Brown, Carlisle. Polished brass bezel with quarter plate bevelled edge glass and reading marker knob to the centre.
