A mid Victorian solid oak rope twist design cased ship's barometer with porcelain dial, fully serviced and in working condition c.1880. The solid figured oak turned case with carved rope twist design border to the outer edge. Aneroid movement sat behind a porcelain dial with ornate coloured script to the weather predictions. Bevelled edge glass viewing window with central reading marker, mounted in a brass bezel. Presented in immaculate condition and in full working order. Measures 9" diameter x 10" high including brass hanging plate x 1.5" deep. Stock number 4...2252.
