Victorian Oak Two Bottle Tantalus
A Victorian golden oak two bottle tantalus with original cut crystal decanters and silver plated decorative fittings in mint condition c.1890. The solid golden figured English oak frame with shaped sides and a two compartment tray to the base to hold the decanters in place. The top rail with silver plated carrying handle and silver bindings. A working lock with original key set to the side upright, which works a key release mechanism for the fall front locking bar, which forms part of the tantalus base. The base wit silver plated bound corners and cartouche. The original hobn...ail cut crystal decanters with matching stoppers in mint condition. The casework with a rich colour and original patina, presented in superb original condition. Measures 10.5" wide x 5.25" deep x 13" high. Stock number 42579.
