A top quality Victorian rosewood marine stick barometer with bone scales and brass gimbal, fully overhauled and working c.1880. The slim proportioned rosewood case with arched top to the glazed view window, angled bone scales sat behind with remote adjustable vernier marker. The slim figured rosewood trunk with thermometer set to the centre, matching bone scale and original mercury action thermometer. Cylindrical brass cistern cistern cover to the base. Sat in a polished brass gimbal with hinged action for folding the barometer flush to the wall. Presented in superb original condition ...with a rich polish to the case, the movement fully overhauled and working. Measures 36.5" high x 3" wide at the scale x 2" wide at the trunk x 2" max deep. Sits 9.5" away from the wall with the gimbal folded out. Stock number 39402.
