An unusual Victorian oval ring box with cut and etched crystal, silver rim and magnifying lid c.1900. Oval crystal base with polished underside, the sides of the box with deep cut frosted finish decoration. Cast silver rim above with chased decoration and matching trim to the upper half forming a hinged opening lid. The lid inset with a domed top magnifying glass to magnify the appearance of the sparkling contents. The lid opening to reveal a gilt lined finish to the silver fittings. Tested as silver but without hallmarks and presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine. Measures 2" wide x 1.5" deep x 1.5" high. Stock number 42186.
