Victorian Silver Basket
A fine quality Victorian solid silver lozenge shaped silver basket with superb fretted and embossed floral decoration, weighing nearly 5 troy oz, hallmarked London 1896. The deep lozenge shaped basket stood on a matching shaped foot, both of which have fretwork decoration and are embossed with floral swags. The basket with polished centre and a swept edge to the rim, which has scroll design decoration inset with flowers. Bears the makers mark for London silversmiths William Gibson & John Langman, founders of Goldsmiths & Silversmiths along with clear hallmarks. Weighing 4.9 troy oz ...and presented in immaculate unused condition.
