A stylish Victorian silver mounted crystal claret jug in mint condition, hallmarked Sheffield 1872. The slightly tapering plain clear crystal vessel with small pedestal foot to the base. Heavy quality deep solid silver mount to the rim with hinged lid above, plus fretted thumb plate to aid opening and poring spout to the side. Angular silver handle set to the opposite side of the spout with scroll design terminus and supporting silver band running around the vessel, which secures the handle in place. Bears the makers mark for Sheffield silversmiths W & G Sissons... along with clear hallmarks to all sections. Presented in immaculate perfect condition. Measures 4" vessel diameter x 5" wide including handle x 11.5" high. Stock number 42682.
