A fine quality and very collectable Victorian silver pepper grinder with embossed decoration c.1890. The fine quality and detailed decoration depicting daily village life running continuously around the grinder. Decorative leaf design scroll work to the top with small crescent shaped opening with sliding cover for filling with pepper. Matching decoration to the grinding handle, ebony knob set to the end. The base with intact and working mechanism and showing the timber inner canister. Bears the Britannia silver standard mark m and import marks for c.1890. Presented in immaculate condition with... a deep shine and full working order. Measures 3" high x 2" diameter x 4" wide including handle. Stock number 37824.
