Victorian Silver Sovereign and Vesta Case
A top quality Victorian solid silver vesta and sovereign case combination, hallmarked Birmingham 1901. The heavy quality solid silver case oblong in form with rounded corners and domed sides, hanging loop to the top with inset push button to release the cover of the sovereign compartment. The interior with spring loaded engine turned disk for retaining full sovereigns. The opposite end with recessed match striker to the end, the lid with snap opening to access the match storage compartment. Bears the makers mark for Birmingham silversmiths A & J Zimmerman along with clear hallmarks. Pre...sented in excellent condition with a deep shine. Measures 3.5" long including hanging loop or 2.75" without x 1.25" wide x 0.5" deep. Stock number 40428.
