Victorian Silver Vesta Canister
An unusual Victorian solid silver vesta canister with fine quality Greek key design decoration, hallmarked Birmingham 1884. Oval form with snap closing hinged lid and hanging loop to the centre. The sides of the case with seven bands of fine quality Greek key design decoration, vacant shield to the front and match striker to the side. The snap top opening to reveal a clean interior for storing the matches. Bears the makers mark for Solomon Blanckensee & Sons Ltd along with rubbed but readable hallmarks. Presented in excellent condition. Measures 0.9" wide x 0.6" deep x 1.5" hi...gh. Stock number 42070.
