A fine quality Victorian period solid silver vinaigrette with gilt lined interior, hallmarked Birmingham 1884. Oblong form with scalloped edges to the face and rear. Superb decorative engraving to both sides with plain shield to the face side for engraving the owners initials; hanging loop to the top. Opens to reveal an immaculate gilt lined interior with superbly engraved and fretted hinged internal cover for placing the scented sponge behind. Bears the makers mark for Birmingham silversmiths Hilliard & Thomason. Presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine. Measures 1.5" long x... 0.9" wide x 0.3" deep. Stock number 38096.
