A quality Victorian carved solid English oak cased banjo barometer with skeletonised movement and porcelain dial, fully serviced and working c.1890. The elegant proportioned case with carved pediment to the top, and complementing carving to the centre plus a matching carved crest to the base. Skeletonised android movement visible to the centre of the circular porcelain dial, set behind a bevelled edge glass mounted in a polished brass bezel with central reading marker. Matching scale to the original mercury action thermometer sat to the top half of the case. Presented in immaculate perfect ...condition and in full working order; rich mellow colour and original patina to the casework. Measures 33.5" long x 10" maximum width x 3" maximum depth.
