A late Victorian embossed steel cased aneroid barometer c.1880. The unusual rope twist design casing in embossed steel originally made for a fisherman or sea faring person to predict against all weathers. Original white porcelain dial with crescent shaped thermometer set to the lower half of the dial, rapid indicating aneroid movement set behind. Three brass wall fixings to the surround for originally fastening to bulkhead. Full working order and presented in excellent condition with a patinated finish to the case. Measures 8" diameter x 3" deep. Stock Number 38206.
