A Victorian brass bound coromandel traveling box with original fitted interior and silver topped contents hallmarked London 1870. Figured coromandel veneered exterior with brass bound corners, hinged top and base drawer; both with Bramah lock and key. The hinged lid opening to reveal an original blue velvet and silk lined interior with divisions to hold the original silver topped crystal jars and bottles plus vanity tools with mother of pearl handles. The ten cut crystal jars, bottles and boxes all with engraved lids and cut crystal bases. The box lid with removable velvet ba...cked mirror and letter folder behind, and the box base with removable surface compartments and storage behind. The base drawer with original velvet lined interior fitted for jewellery. The silver pieces bearing the makers mark for London silversmith Thomas Wallis I along with clear hallmarks to all sections and a retailers label for high class purveyors Leuchars & Son, Piccadilly, London. Presented in superb, more or less unused condition with only minor damage to the glass rim of one jar. Measures 12" wide x 9" deep x 7.75" high. Stock number 40918.
