A collectable William IV Policeman's truncheon with original hand painted decoration c.1835. Turned from a single piece of solid mahogany with a shaped handle to the base, which includes ring turning for improved grip and hole to the end for a leather strap. Slightly tapering shaft with wider section to the upper end and domed top. Original dark green painted finish to the shaft with William IV initials and crown to the top, plus division with officer's number to the shaft and the handle with a gilt finish. Presented in superb original condition with wear and patination consistent to it's a...ge and use.
